Holmes County Commissioners have approved a $2.5 million bid for an upcoming paving project involving eight county roads.  Melway Paving, one of two companies to bid on the project, was awarded the contract.  Paving work will be done on stretches of County Roads 1, 19, 23, 35, 61, 192, 400 and 558.  Commissioners have also approved a $250,000 contract with another company to paint and stripe the roads once the paving work is complete.  The county says three other roads could also get paved this summer, but only if funding allows.
