Unemployment on the rise in Medina County

Despite a downward trend across the State of Ohio, unemployment claims in Medina County are on the rise for the fourth consecutive week. According to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, there were 129 unemployment claims in Medina County last week, and the county’s peak over the last month is 139. Medina currently has 470 continued unemployment claims. Medina County’s monthly average is 110 claims, but that number is far less than last year’s average at the same date, which was 410 claims.
