Keeping track of inmates at the Wayne County Jail will soon be a lot easier and much more efficient.  With the jail’s current inmate management system nearly obsolete, Wayne County Commissioners have agreed to purchase a brand new state-of-the-art digital system.  The sheriff’s office says its current software is very antiquated, and to be able to even use the system it has to purchase the needed equipment off of eBay because the software is no longer being updated.  The new digital system, which comes with a first-year cost of nearly $37,000, will allow the jail to become fully digital and track inmates’ movements in real-time with the use of tablets.
