4-year old in critical condition after being pulled from icy pond

A 4-year-old boy is said to be in critical condition after being rescued from an icy pond Sunday, near Dalton.  The East Wayne Fire District was called out to a farm on South Eckard Road at around 11am on a report that two young boys, ages 6 and 4, had fallen through the ice.  The boys’ 56-year old grandfather also had to be rescued after he went into the water to try and save them.  Rescuers had to perform CPR on both boys, as neither one was breathing when they were pulled from the water.  Both were taken to Akron Children’s Hospital.
