A 74-year old Amish man stands accused of sexually assaulting several children in Ashland County. Joas Swartzentruber, of Polk, was indicted last week on a total of nine charges, including two counts each of rape, gross sexual imposition and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. The alleged abuse reportedly occurred between January of 2019 and this past November. Authorities say one of the alleged victims was younger than 13 when the abuse occurred, while the other two were between the ages of 13 and 16. Swartzentruber remains jailed, with bond set at $250,000.
