The Holmes County Board of Elections Director says that despite a report last week that the board had missed a state-mandated deadline to complete a security checklist, it is ready for the upcoming primary and general elections.  Lisa Welch told county commissioners at their meeting on Monday that the board of elections had everything that it was responsible for ready in time for the January 31st deadline, but that the vendor hired to implement the computer portion of the directive did not.  Welch says the board of elections’ equipment is now up and running, and secure.  The new security measures are meant to be a safeguard against foreign interference in this year’s Presidential Election.
