The Cleveland Indians’ offense came alive in game one of a three game series against the Texas Rangers, as they defeated the Rangers 9 to 6. Eli Morgan pitched 5.2 innings giving up 4 earned runs on 7 hits and throwing two strikeouts. Austin Hedges homered in the 2nd while Bobby Bradley sent one in the 4th. 8 of the 9 starting batters notched at least one hit in the match. Myles Straw was the only player with a silent bat for the Indians.

The Indians will face the Rangers once again Saturday evening with the first pitched scheduled at 7:05 p.m. If the Tribe can successfully sweep the Rangers, they will avoid a losing record for the season, notching 81 wins and 81 losses.
