Three tornadoes touched down in the central portion of Ohio during the severe string of thunderstorms Monday night and early Tuesday morning, with two of them producing winds over 100 mph.
According to the National Weather Service, an EF1 tornado touched down at 11:17 p.m. in Morrow County. The tornado had top winds around 97 mph and was on the ground just over three miles. Several trees were uprooted or snapped, and a trailer on a farm was tossed about 30 yards. Several farm buildings were damaged.
A second EF1 tornado touched down at 11:22 p.m. in Morrow County and continued into Knox County, according to the NWS. It was on the ground for more than seven miles and had top winds of 105 mph. Some uprooted trees landed on buildings, a detached garage was destroyed, and a barn was destroyed. Some of the farm equipment was thrown 200 to 300 yards.
Another EF1 tornado with maximum winds of 105 mph touched down in Richland and Ashland counties at 11:33 p.m. Monday, the NWS confirms. The tornado traveled nearly six miles, causing some structure damage and downing several trees.
There were no reports of injuries.
