In an effort to recruit more bedside nurses, Wooster Community Hospital has changed its hiring requirements.  Earlier this month, the hospital decided to eliminate the requirement that new hires have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.  A BSN is a degree earned by nursing students at the undergraduate level.  It usually takes between three to four years and is a prerequisite to being a registered nurse in Ohio.  By eliminating the Bachelor of Science in Nursing requirement, the hospital says it immediately increased its pool of applicants.
