The Ashland County Bomb Squad was summoned early Tuesday morning when mushroom hunters discovered a live hand grenade in Holmes County.
According to the Holmes County Sheriff’s office, the hunters were in the woods near Township Road 511 in Big Prairie Township at around 10 a.m. when they discovered the hand grenade. The sheriff’s office said the grenade had been there for some time and that nobody could identify what exactly it was.
The bomb squad immediately came out and detonated the device successfully without any injuries.
