The 13-seed Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the 12-seed Wisconsin Badgers in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament 65-57 on Wednesday.

For Ohio State (14-18, 5-15 Big Ten), senior guard Sean McNeil led all scorers with 17 points on 6-8 shooting off the bench. Senior forward Justice Sueing scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds, while freshman guard Bruce Thornton scored 15 points and grabbed four rebounds.

For Wisconsin (17-14, 9-11 Big Ten), senior forward Tyler Wahl recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman guard Connor Essegian scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

The 13-seed Buckeyes will now take on the 5-seed Iowa Hawkeyes in the second round of the tournament on Thursday, March 9th, with tip-off set for 2:30 p.m.
