The College of Wooster today announced the departure of Head Baseball Coach Barry Craddock.   Craddock was named full-time head coach of Wooster’s baseball team in May 2020, after leading the team the prior season as interim head coach. Prior to assuming the helm, Craddock was an assistant coach for 16 years under Tim Pettorini. During his tenure as head and assistant coach, Craddock helped lead the Fighting Scots to the NCAC title nine times, and Wooster won five regional titles and advanced to the NCAA Div. III World Series three times, with the 1997 and 2009 squads finishing as the national runner-up. Coach Craddock leaves the head coaching position after four seasons with a record of 81-57-1. 

During his tenure as head and assistant coach, Craddock helped lead the Fighting Scots to the NCAC title nine times, and Wooster won five regional titles and advanced to the NCAA Div. III World Series three times, with the 1997 and 2009 squads finishing as the national runner-up. Coach Craddock leaves the head coaching position after four seasons with a record of 81-57-1. During his time as a student-athlete at Wooster, Craddock was a member of a Mideast Regional championship team, appeared in 52 games, and earned seven saves as a pitcher.

“We appreciate Barry for his longtime dedication and passion for Wooster Baseball over the course of his 20 years with the program and prior to that as a player himself. He played an integral role in the team’s success over the years and supported hundreds of Wooster students during their four years on campus,” said Wooster Athletic Director Amy Heasley Williams. “We collectively thank Barry for his
efforts and wish him the best moving forward.” A search for the next Head Coach will begin immediately
