Work on Dalton High School’s new softball field is now complete, and the district says the first game to be played on the field will take place in mid-July.  The game, which will feature both current and former Dalton players, is scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, July 12th.  In addition to the field being dedicated during a ceremony prior to the ballgame, a remembrance will also be held during the fourth inning in honor of Janine Ramer, a Dalton softball player killed in a 2003 car crash.  The team will honor Ramer’s memory by retiring her number and placing a plaque on their dugout.
