Beech Creek Gardens is bringing ‘Balance’ to this year’s Art In Bloom event!
Alliance, Ohio―Explore and experience balance this year during the month long event, Art In Bloom at Beech Creek Gardens! Enjoy spring and practice social distancing while enjoying art and activities for
the whole family. The event will start May 1 and go until June 6, Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays 12-5 p.m. Art In Bloom is an outdoor garden exhibit with beautiful spring flowers and displayed artwork made by local artists, as well as staff and volunteers at the gardens. “We offer something different each season at the gardens, and each season we strive to offer
something unique that inspires people to get outside and explore and learn about nature,” said Melinda Carmichael, executive director of Beech Creek Gardens. “Public gardens have a long history of being great backdrops’ for beautiful art to be displayed. Tying these two together just seems to come natural especially during the spring when everything is coming alive after a long winter!” The theme for this year’s event is balance. Carmichael said she was sitting down with the education coordinator discussing upcoming projects and plans and ended up talking about balance. That is when the idea struck to make it this year’s theme, which incorporates physical, emotional and mental balance. When visiting this event, there will be artwork showing the artist’s interpretation of what they think balance represents. There will be interactive activities that will tie in cultural learning, motor skills and coordination that go along with the theme. Art In Bloom is known to bring out older crowds and families, but it is for all generations. The nature playground and buildings are open leaving many options for all ages.
Art In Bloom is different from a traditional art gallery because it takes place outside throughout the gardens, so it is a perfect venue for easy social distancing. Admissions from the events Beech Creek Gardens puts on, especially Art In Bloom, bring in much needed funding which helps to support the nonprofit organization.
