Four-year old who fell into pond passes away

A young boy who fell into an icy pond this past weekend near Dalton has died.  According to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, four-year old Jensen Hodge passed away Tuesday at Akron Children’s Hospital.  Hodge, and his six-year old brother, were at their family’s dairy farm in Sugar Creek Township on Sunday when they ventured onto an icy pond and fell through into the water.  Both boys were taken to the hospital, along with their grandfather, who went into the water to try and rescue them.  The grandfather was never admitted, while Hodge’s six-year old brother was released on Monday.  Relatives have set up a GoFundMe account to help with the family’s expenses.  Those wishing to donate simply need to type “Hodge Family” into the search engine at gofundme.com.
