In Wooster, city council members have cleared the way for a six-foot tall statue of Revolutionary War General David Wooster, the man for whom the city is named, to be placed on the front lawn of the Wayne County Public Library’s main branch.  At its meeting last night, council voted to approve a $12,000 gift from the city that pushes the project past its $85,000 fundraising goal.  The city’s gift comes on the heels of a $25,000 grant from the Wayne County Community Foundation.  The statue will be installed next spring.
