The Green Local School District’s board of education has officially agreed to renew the contract of Smithville High School’s head basketball coach. The board voted 4-1 at its meeting yesterday morning to renew the contract of Corey Kaufman, whose future with the district had been up in the air following a confrontation with a student during an open gym session back in April. Per the terms of his new contract, which the district is calling a “last chance agreement”, Kaufman will need to abide by certain provisions, including several behavioral stipulations.
