The Cleveland Guardians fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night by a final score of 6-3. The loss for the Guardians snaps a two-game winning streak, although Cleveland has won three of their last five ballgames.

For Cleveland (53-50), All-star third baseman Jose Ramirez got the team on the board in the bottom of the 1st inning with an RBI single, while catcher Luke Maile got his own RBI single in the bottom of the 2nd inning. With the Guardians down 5-2 in the bottom of the 6th inning, Maile attempted to spark a comeback with an RBI double but it was too much to overcome for Cleveland. Starting pitcher Triston McKenzie took his eighth loss on the season, going 6.0 innings and striking out seven batters and allowing six hits and four earned runs.

For Arizona (46-57), first baseman Christian Walker continues his hot streak in the series against the Guardians with a three-run homerun in the 1st inning. Outfieler Alek Thomas had a two-run RBI double in the 5th inning to extend the Arizona lead, while catcher Carson Kelly hit a solo homerun in the 7th inning which sealed the 6-3 win. Starting pitcher Zac Gallen got his sixth win on the season, going 5.2 innings and striking out five batters and allowing six hits and three earned runs.

The Guardians will wrap up this home series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday, August 3rd, with first pitch set for 1:10 p.m.
