The Guardians started a three game weekend series at the Tampa Bay Rays tonight with a win, by a final score of 4-1. This will be the last series for the team on the current road trip before they head back to Cleveland for 7 straight.

For Cleveland (Now 51-48), 2B Andres Gimenez would start the scoring in the 4th, when he doubled to right to score 1B Owen Miller. In the 5th, 3B Jose Ramirez hit a 402 ft home-run (number 21 for the season), scoring OF Steven Kwan and himself. Finally, in the Seventh, it would also be Jose who singled to center to again score Kwan. The win goes to starting pitcher Shane Bieber after a strong night of work, getting through 7 full innings with just 1 run on 5 hits, to go with 8 K’S earned and 2 walks allowed.

For Tampa Bay (Now 53-47), the offense was kept limited to just the 1st inning, when 1B Ji-Man Choi would single to center, scoring 3B Yandy Diaz. The loss went to starter Jeffrey Springs after going 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits.

The Guardians will be back in action with day games both Tommorow and Sunday. Tomorrow will be a 1:10p first pitch(pregame starts on WQKT at 12:35p), with Zach Plezac set to take the mound for CLE. Sunday will be a 1:40p first pitch(pregame at 1:05p), and the starter is still currently undecided.
