Holmes County Commissioners are hoping to reduce the speed limit on portions of five county roads.  Based on the recommendation of the county engineer’s office, commissioners are trying to get the speed limit on the roads reduced from the current 55 MPH.  Commissioners are requesting that the speed limit be 45 MPH on portions of county roads 75, 235, 318 and 600, while they are asking the speed limit to be reduced to 35 MPH on a three mile stretch of County Road 135.  The proposed speed limit reductions will now be submitted to ODOT, which has final say on the matter.
