First Knox National Bank is hoping to eventually open up a new branch in Wooster to replace its current location on Eagle Pass, just off Akron Road. First Knox leases that land, but wants to put a branch in on a parcel that it actually owns. The bank is considering opening up a branch along Cleveland Road, at the former site of the Wooster Baptist Temple, which the bank purchased back in October. Before anything is official though, First Knox firsts needs the permission of the Office of the Comptroller of Currency, which is an independent bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
