A new section of the Heartland Trail was opened Monday that connects Orrville to Marshallville. The 2.4 mile stretch of paved trail stretches from Forrer Road at the northeast corner of Orrville to Marshallville. Rails to Trails of Wayne County and the Rails to Trails Conservancy held a ribbon cutting for the trail Monday, and it is the first new trail miles to be added in Ohio since the Great American Rail-Trail was announced in May.
