Tuesday was election night in Wayne County, with plenty of races to be decided throughout the county. In Wooster, Mayor Bob Brenaman won his fourth term defeating Nell Reardon, while all of City Councils incumbents kept their seats, with Craig Sanders, Mark Cavin and David Silvestri all defeating their opponents. In Creston, John Hall defeated John Conlon for village mayor, while Dennis Finley won Daltons Mayoral race over Patrick Sword. Five schools had levy issues on the ballot, with all the levies passing. Hillsdale would have both of their levies pass, one for current expenses and one for general improvements. Norwayne, Southeast Local, and West Holmes all had renewal levies pass. Triway’s additional tax issue for a new K-12 school building passed by 383 votes. In the lone county issue, Wayne County Children’s services renewal levy was also passed by county voters, as the county saw just about 30% of its registered voters turn out for the election.
