A woman walking on Interstate 270 died Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle, prompting an hours-long partial closure of the eastbound lanes of the highway near Route 104. The woman, whose identity has not yet been released, was struck just after 5 a.m and pronounced dead at 5:16 a.m, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman stayed at the scene and waited for police.
