The Stark County Sheriff’s Office says that a 55-year-old Massillon woman was killed Friday evening after she got out of her vehicle to help an injured animal and was struck by a car. The incident happened just after 7:15 PM on State Route 241 near Kidron Road in Tuscarawas Township. The woman reportedly parked her vehicle in the northbound lane of State Route 241 to help the animal, and was then struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on the road. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
