A 34-year-old man was killed in a 2-vehicle accident Saturday morning in Wayne County’s Canaan Township. The State Highway Patrol says that the incident happened around 9:00 AM at the intersection State Route 83 and State Route 604. According to a report, the car driven by the 34-year-old man apparently failed to stop at a stop sign on “ 604”  and crashed into a 71-year-old man driving a jeep. Both vehicles ended up in a nearby field after the crash. The 34-year-old man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 71-year-old man involved was wearing a seatbelt, and was transported to Wooster Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
