An endowment fund has been created in Ashland to preserve the city’s annual fireworks display. The Rotary Club of Ashland has begun raising money for the fund to help keep the fireworks display an ongoing event in the city. The endowment fund was created after the Ashland County Community Foundation gave the Rotary Club a $10,000 donation with the caveat that the Rotary create a sustainable long term plan for the fireworks display. The Rotary estimates that the annual display and expenses cost roughly $20,000, and the club wants to grow the endowment to $100,000 in the next five to seven years.
