Holmes County Commissioners have officially handed over the former county landfill to the Holmes County Park District. The transferring of the 250 acres of land, which is located off of Township Road 326 in the north central part of the county, took place during a meeting on Monday. The sale was made possible thanks to a $400,000 grant from the state. Commissioners say the sale will ensure that the land remains a green space forever.
