Teachers in Ashland may soon head on strike over contract dispute

Teachers in the Ashland City School District could soon be heading to the picket lines if an agreement on a new contract is not reached. The Teachers Association voted Monday to authorize a strike notice from its negotiating team, while also voting zero confidence in the Board of Education. Negotiations between the Ashland Teachers Association and the Board of Education have reached an impasse over terms, including not receiving a raise in nine years. The teachers have been working with no contract since June.
