The Orrville Area United Way has kicked off its annual fundraising campaign. This year’s campaign had its official kickoff on Friday night, at the Orrville/Wooster football game. At halftime of the game, the organization also recognized outgoing Executive Director Helen Myers for her 33 years of service. Friday night’s campaign kickoff was the first time in its 61 year history that the event was open to the public. In the past, the event was simply a luncheon put on for the United Way’s volunteers. Board members say the change was made to make the event more accessible to everyone in the community.
